Candy Empire: Queen and Advisor
For a drama design class, I was assigned to create costume and makeup looks based on a generic character—mine being a “Candy King/Queen.” I challenged myself to create something different from the fluffy pastel worlds of the Candy Land game or Adventure Time’s Candy Kingdom. I ended up taking inspiration from pre-industrial “proto-candies” from the Middle East, North Africa, and East Asia to design a shimmering, golden, candy empire.
